Best time to visit Darjeeling

Every season in Darjeeling is perfect to visit, but if you want to visit this place in its full beauty then March to May on the first half of the year. In the second half you can visit from October to December During these seasons the weather will be pleasant in the first half of the season March to May and the skies remain clear which would be perfect for Witness Mountains and valleys.

Remaining second half of the year we called it festive times it could be a little bit colder compared to the first half of the year but worth visiting. The Golden hour we called it, is the best time to see the Reddish Mt peak of Kanchenjunga in the evening and morning hour. Whereas in monsoon you will get rainfall on these regions which would be problematic to tour.

Mall road or Chowrasta is one of the iconic places to visit in Darjeeling, which is a flat opening space for the public square. The space is so special that it has seen a long history from British raj in India it has its vibe Chowrasta is free from vehicular traffic surrounded by the old stores and in the backdrop the view of Mt Kanchenjunga. Mall Chowrasta is the place where most of the tourists and locals hang out during the day and in the evening and night too. Most of the famous and best hotels and restaurants, cafés, and pubs are near Mall road.

Tiger Hill

Tiger Hill

Located at the highest place in the Darjeeling area, this place is best known for its dazzling morning view of Mt Kanchenjunga and the snow-covered peaks you can see the entire western Himalayan range from here. Tiger hill is located 11 km from Darjeeling town and takes almost 46 minutes to reach by car to this place. On a clear day, you can see Mt Everest from here.

DHR Darjeeling Himalayan railways operate both in steam and diesel. The steam engine train driven is the old and the most heritage one and earns the UNESCO World Heritage site tag. The 2-hour journey of a joy ride can be taken from Darjeeling station to Ghum station and in between, you can witness the beautiful valleys and tea gardens the train passes from the iconic Batasia loop and stops for 15 minutes in Ghum station. In Ghum station you can visit the Museum which exhibits the old artifacts and which shows the history of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
